Indication
Treatment of nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy and radiotherapy, as well as surgery
Composition
Each injection contains:
Ondansetron HCI Dihydrate is equivalent to Ondansetron 2 mg
Ondansetron HCI Dihydrate is equivalent to Ondansetron 2 mg
Dose
Prevention of postoperative nausea & vomiting: 4 mg single dose IM or slow IV.
Prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with highly emetogenic doses: 8 mg slow IV or 15 minute infusion immediately before chemotherapy, followed by continuous infusion of 1 mg ondansetron/hour for < 24 hours or 2 injections of 8 mg slow IV or 15 minute infusion 4 hours apart.
Prevention of nausea & vomiting associated with moderately emetogenic doses: 8 mg slow IV or infusion over 15 minutes immediately before chemotherapy
Prevention of nausea & vomiting associated with adequate doses of radiotherapy: 8 mg for 12 hours, first dose given 1-2 hours before radiotherapy
Children > 4 years: 5 mg/m2 IV over 15 minutes before chemotherapy
